Baha® implant
There are two types of Baha® systems : Baha Connect and Baha Attract. They both use the Baha BI300 titanium implant.

Depending on the system chosen, it is possible to link the processor to the titanium implant via a magnetic connection or via an abutment for a direct connection.
The Baha Connect System
This percutaneous Baha Connecy System uses an abutment behind the ear that provides the direct connection between the implant and the processor. The processor is fixed by pressure on the pillar.
- A processor picks up sounds in the air.
- It transforms them into vibrations, which it sends to the implant via an abutment.
- The implant transmits vibrations through the bone directly to the inner ear where they are converted into electrical impulses and sent to the brain.
The Baha Attract System
Internal and external magnets that attract each other on either side of the skin are used to fix a sound processor into a position.
- A processor picks up sounds in the air.
- It transforms them into vibrations, which it sends to the implant via a magnetic connection (magnets).
- The implant transmits vibrations through the bone directly to the inner ear where they are converted into electrical impulses and sent to the brain.
The system offers 6 magnet strengths, to suit each skin type, and includes Baha Softwear pads. These pads adjust to the shape of the head and distribute pressure evenly1 across the surface.
A hearing professional or surgeon can provide recommendations on the most indicated magnet for each case.
The Baha BI300 implant
This implant is made of titanium and features TiOblast surface technology. It measures a few millimetres and allows the use of a processor fixing system.
The implant is inserted into the bone behind the ear during surgery. After a period of healing, the implant integrates with the bone in a process called osseointegration. Once integrated, it is then possible to connect a processor to it.
