The role of a speech therapist

Speech therapists are also known as speech-language pathologists (SLP) or auditory-verbal therapists (AVT).

A speech therapist works with a child to help them develop listening and speaking skills, and to monitor the progress.

A speech therapist may instruct on different ways to help a child to try to improve listening and communications skills.

Even if speech therapy may be more difficult for some children, it's important to persevere ; it may help with developing language, social and conversational skills, development, and expressive and communication understanding. Moreover, practising between speech therapy appointments may be highly recommended by the speech therapist.
