Several implants and electrodes
The implant is connected to the external processor through a magnet. The implant's electrodes, inserted into the cochlea, are designed to stimulate the auditory nerve.
Because each hearing loss is different, Cochlear offers a full range of implants allowing the surgeon to choose the most suitable solution for your type of hearing loss, the anatomy of your cochlea and his surgical habits.
The electrode bundle is the part of the implant that is inserted into the cochlea. It can have a curved shape (perimodiolar) designed to match the natural shape of the cochlea and position itself as close as possible to the auditory nerve, or a straight shape.
