When her children were young, Theresa couldn’t hear them cry due to hearing that had deteriorated due to a childhood illness.
She says she missed out on so much.
In 2012, Theresa decided to have surgery to receive a cochlear implant because she says she was tired of being secluded from society.
“I wanted to experience life. Of course, if I can hear better, why not? Why not take the chance?”
Now she’s a grandmother to twins, and she loves the sound of their laughter, crying and talking.
